It is a day not only set up to give us a time to remember one of those most influencial and important Americans ever to have lived, but a time for us also to continue to strive for the dream he had. It's a dream of peace. Today, as you remember his life, take a look at the world today. Anti-war demonstrations are happening all over the world for a reason, people don't want to go to war. The more people who speak their mind, the more influence they will have. That is one way we can help honor his life and his dream of peace. If you believe in peace, then don't be afraid to work for it. Don't be lazy about the issue. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a person just like the rest of us. Any single one of us could be a Martin Luther King, Jr. The only difference is we need to speak out and all be leaders and work for the things we believe in. Sure, we may all have our own priorities and issues in our lives that take more importance, but you need to work for what you want and you can make a difference. That's my message for today, and I want you to think about it. "We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now.
